Review: MIMI Virgin Olive Oil

A Kitchen Product that is beneficial for your health and skin

MIMI is first virgin olive oil that I ever used. The other brand of olive oil I have used is Figaro, which is widely famous in India. I bought MIMI virgin olive oil when shopping in Big Bazaar, one stop mart in India. My motive behind buying this oil was to use it in pasta and salads. But I never thought that I would use it on my skin and in hair. For only good, Figaro finished and i had no option but to use MIMI on my body and oh boy!!

What I like about it?

It's light, lighter than Figaro. It seeps in to your skin like it is made for your skin only. But the praise doesn't stop here. It has proved to be beneficial for hair growth and hair fall too. For the records, my hair is prone to falling. I fear using different hair products (mark it) and my biggest fears are losing my hair and teeth. Also, my darling husband has baldness in his genes. He doesn't agree to it but his hair fall has also stopped. It does but a very little while I used to see hair strands everywhere leaving his traces. That was the time when I decided I have to do a review.

As a matter of fact, it is virgin olive oil which is working on our hair, skin and pasta salads so efficiently. MIMI is the brand name and glad to know that MIMI manufactures one of the best virgin olive oil  which is available in Indian market. That simply means that if you are unable to find virgin olive oil then look for MIMI in Big Bazaar.

It comes in a glass bottle and price is Rs. 145 for 250 ml. I am half way through with it and it hasn't finished yet. In summers, I apply oil only once in a week because of hot Indian summer   so it is going to last me one more month.

Benefits of Virgin Olive Oil

  • Olive oils have 4 types of antioxidants. Antioxidants neutralize damaging free radicals that can lead to skin aging and skin cancer. Well-designed studies have shown that mice that drink extra virgin olive oil develop less skin cancer after exposure to UV light. source: v-style
  • Vitamins A and E are a part of olive oil that help repair and renew skin that has been damaged from overexposure to sun, air pollution, and other modern-day environmental hazards – like cigarette smoke and fast food.
  • Used either as a night cream or daily moisturizer, it is best applied to damp skin, when water can help reduce any feeling of greasiness. It is recommended using extra virgin olive oil.
  • Use it as an exfoliator on dry flaky skin by mixing sea salt.
  • Use olive oil to soften the cuticles and make your nails healthy and less brittle. It also gives a natural shine to your nails.
  • Use olive oil as your eye makeup remover. You would know how healthy and beneficial it proves to be for your eyes. Source:oliveoilsource

  1. Oh yes olive oil has so may benefits, for the stomach, the skin and of course hair. I have been applying a mixture of coconut oil and olive oil on my hair for quite sometime and I have never looked back. It has made my hair thick and nourished it. I follow this process up with a hot towel or mask. I apply a mixture of Hair & care oil and vigaro olive oil. I have also heard that Hair & Care has roped in web teen sensation Shraddha Sharma for their latest TVC. Wow, love her songs!

Speak your mind!! THAT MATTERS.
